Stop-smoking program comes to South End
September 1, 2008 · 11:43 AM
Whidbey General Hospital is helping people kick the smoking habit.
The hospital’s Life Center for Essential Wellness is offering free one-hour information/support sessions around tobacco cessation. The sessions are aimed at helping people who want to stop smoking and offering support to those who have already quit but still need reinforcement.
Island County Health Department and Whidbey General Hospital are partnering to present the program, which includes helping people learn about health issues related to tobacco, the many tools available for people when they want to quit and how to find resources that will work.
Refreshments will be provided.
The instructor is Katherine Riddle, and the program will be offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, Nov. 19 and Dec. 17 at South Whidbey Community Health Services, 5475 S. Maxwelton Road, Langley.
