The Island County Canvassing Board will conduct a special meeting this morning to resolve any tie votes from the Aug. 19 primary in races for precinct committee officer.

The PCO recount wrapped up on Sept. 8.

Six precincts with close races were culled from the county’s 65 precincts, then each write-in vote was manually counted. Five teams of two election workers spent two to three days separating the ballots and tabulating the PCO write-in votes.

The canvassing board will select winners in the unresolved races at the meeting today, which starts at 10 a.m. in the county's elections office at 400 N Main St., Coupeville. The session is open to the public.
