The Island County Board of Commissioners will hold budget workshops at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 in preparation for a public hearing and expected adoption of the county's 2009 budget on Dec. 1.

Public comment and questions about the budget, which includes about $2 million in cuts due to the declining economy, are welcome at next week's workshop and the December hearing.

County officials are reviewing budget cuts that include the elimination of approximately 30 positions.
