Homola still leads in District 2 Island County commissioner's race

With less then five or so ballots left to count, Democrat Angie Homola remains in the lead over Republican incumbent Mac McDowell in the District 2 race for Island County commissioner.

In the latest update of the vote tally in the race, announced on Monday afternoon, Homola was 59 votes ahead of McDowell; 19,220 to 19,161.

The Island County elections office will certify the results of the general election as official on Tuesday.
