Island Transit cancels bus service

Island Transit has canceled bus service until further notice because of weather conditions.

Another snowstorm hit the South End on Sunday night, and new snowfall of one foot or more was reported in some areas.

Many streets are hazardous for drivers due to packed snow and ice on the roadways. Highway 525 is covered with a thick coating of slush and snow.

County offices in Coupeville are open, although the assessor's office is working with a reduced staff after non-essential employees were told to stay home.
