The Bayview Beach Water District is looking for a new commissioner.

Commissioner John Carty, who has been on the water board for more than six years, will resign soon because of illness, said Sandy Duncan, administrative assistant for the district. His term expires in December 2011.

The district comprises 976 acres, including Useless Bay Colony and the Useless Bay Golf and Country Club.

Applicants must live in the district. Financial and engineering expertise, as well as previous water district experience would be a plus, Duncan said.

Send resumes and letters of interest to Bayview Beach Water District,

PO Box 667, Freeland WA 98249. Applications must be postmarked no later than April 1.

For information, call Duncan at 331-4522.
