A free public forum on renewable energy, sponsored by the South Whidbey Record, will be tonight in Clinton.

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Clinton Community Hall, 6411 Central Ave.

“I know that many of our readers are interested in renewable energy,” said Marcia Van Dyke, publisher of the Record. “We’ve put together a panel that can really talk about what’s going on in the field.”

Panelists will be Andy Wappler, former TV weatherman and current Puget Sound Energy public relations consultant; Michael Payne, international wind-systems manager with Shell; and Lori Christian of Whidbey Sun and Wind in Coupeville.

Wappler will discuss current PSE efforts to produce non-carbon-generated electricity.
