Island County commissioners have agreed to stop publishing the voter’s guide that’s mailed at election time.

The pamphlet contains the photos and statements from local candidates, as well as information about ballot measures. The change is expected to save at least $20,000 for the cash-strapped county. Commissioners unanimously approved the measure at their regular meeting last week.

County officials said the voter’s pamphlet will still be available online at the auditor’s Web site.
