The Whidbey Island Emerging Artist Festival has been canceled, according to Whidbey Island Center for the Arts in Langley.

Wi-Fest, a concert series that promoters said would feature 20 bands at five venues, was planned for Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23.

The musical line-up included Global Heat, Lincoln Crockett and Unkle Nancy and the Family Jewels, and the festival also included workshops for musicians by music industry professionals.

The festival was being produced by AlliKat Productions and WICA. It was originally scheduled for Feb. 27 through Feb. 28 but was postponed in late February until May.
