The South Whidbey School District will hold an open house Wednesday, July 15 for parents and community members to view planned science curriculum materials.

The science committee has been reviewing research on best practices, analyzing and reviewing the state science standards, identifying district science student expectations and reviewing curriculum materials which will help students meet and exceed standards.

There will be a brief presentation on the selection process, materials and recommendations with ample time for community review, questions and input.

The committee will make a final recommendation of kindergarten through 12th-grade materials at the school district board meeting on

Aug. 12.

The review is 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 15 at the district service center, 721 Camano Ave. in Langley (next to Langley Middle School).

For more information on the open house, call Sue Terhar at 221-6100.
