Island Transit measure passing

Island Transit’s request for a sales tax increase is passing convincingly in early vote returns.
The measure was being approved by voters by a 54 percent “yes” vote. The “no” vote was 45 percent.
In the first vote tally released Tuesday night by Island County elections staff, the measure was passing 12,465 votes to 10,332.
