The South Whidbey football team dropped to 0-2 after a non-conference 33-21 loss to Mount Vernon Friday night.

The Falcon offense was held in check most of the night, but running back Henry Mead had a 57-yard run in the second period plus a 66-yard catch and score from quarterback Hunter Rawls in the fourth.

Fullback Danny Zuver crossed into the end zone for a touchdown in the third quarter.

The Falcons open league play on Friday, Sept. 18 when they travel to meet the Lakewood Cougars. One week later, South Whidbey will host Cedarcrest for the team's first home game.
