The Hawaii Police Department has identified the body found Sept. 9 in the Onomea area of Hawaii as 39-year-old Jason Adams.

Adams, 39, is a 1989 graduate of South Whidbey High School.

Authorities in Hawaii said an autopsy performed on Sept. 11 determined that Adams died from a brain injury due to a skull fracture. Preliminary autopsy results did not reveal the manner of death.

Adams, a Mountain View resident of the Big Island, was last seen Sept. 4.

Police have launched a murder investigation.
