Whidbey General Hospital’s new Emergency Medical Services building in Bayview will be unveiled to the public on Saturday.

An open house is planned from 10 a.m. to3 p.m., featuring a ribbon-cutting, tours of the building and equipment, and refreshments.

The building is along Highway 525 between the park-and-ride lot and Bayview Center. The 4,500-square-foot structure initially will house two aid vehicles and four medical personnel, and will be available for emergency response around the clock.

The facility cost about $2.5 million and replaces the hospital’s former facility in Freeland.
