A request by South Whidbey High School seniors to go off-campus during school hours was unanimously approved by the South Whidbey School Board at its regular meeting on Wednesday.

There are some restrictions. Students must be passing all classes with a 2.0 grade point average throughout the school year, have no record of disciplinary infractions, have fewer than nine non-school related absences and must have no tardies in third period class.

While off campus, students agree to follow all school rules, not loiter in the parking lot, avoid traveling in the same car with non-eligible students and stay away from any restricted areas off-campus or adjacent properties such as the football field or Community Park.

The off-campus privilege can be revoked by a parent or if the student is no longer a “senior in good standing.”
