Voters forums are coming up

The Clinton Progressive Association and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce are hosting two forums with candidates in the upcoming election of commissioners for the Port of South Whidbey and Fire

District 3.

The first forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at the Clinton Community Hall, Highway 525 and Humphrey Road.

The forum will feature Mike Helland and Gary Gabelein, the two candidates for Fire District 3, along with Dean Enell and Chris Jerome, the two candidates for port commissioner, Position 2.

Candidates will address the issues in a moderated discussion, followed by an audience question-and-answer period.

The forum will be preceded by the Clinton Progressive Association general membership meeting and a potluck from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

The second forum, with candidates for the Port of South Whidbey, Position 3 will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The moderator for both forums is Sherryl Christie-Bierschenk, president of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce.
