People interested in hunting on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island property during the 2009-10 hunting season are invited to attend a “One-Stop-Shop” meeting on the topic in Oak Harbor.

The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14 at the Crescent Harbor Adventures (Marina), 150 Tulagi Ave., Bldg. 2735 at the Seaplane Base.

The meeting will cover on-base hunting permit requirements, hunting areas and base access procedures, after which hunters may register, pay the $13 fee and receive permits.

Hunters must have a Washington state hunting license in order to be issued a permit, and hunters must present licenses for the species they wish to hunt to acquire an installation hunting permit. Civilian hunters are welcome to participate in the pheasant release program on the installation.

For more information, call John Phillips at 360-257-8873 or the NASWI Environmental Office at 360-257-1009.
