South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District commissioners voted unanimously this week to ask voters in February to extend the district’s property tax levy for another four years.

The tax rate of the maintenance-and-operations levy will be a continuation of the current amount of 15 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value.

The property tax levy allows the parks and recreation district to maintain its park facilities and provide recreational programs and events to the community, according to parks officials.
