John Koster, a Snohomish County councilman and a Republican challenging Democrat Rick Larsen for his 2nd District seat in Congress, will be the featured speaker at the next meeting of the South Whidbey Republican Women.

Koster previously served as a lawmaker in Olympia and ran a dairy farm in Arlington.

He has been reelected twice to his current position in Snohomish County government, and Republicans say he is beloved by grassroots conservatives in the area, particularly for his work on property rights and taxes.

The meeting is at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Useless Bay Country Club. Reservations for lunch are required; call Saranell DeChambeau at 221-1848 or Jean Goodfellow at 579-5348 for reservations or more information.
