Island County is looking to fill three vacancies on the Joint Administration Board, the 19-member body that represents the lodging industry, tourism organizations and elected officials from the county and incorporated cities of Whidbey Island.

There are currently two vacancies: one from the lodging industry in unincorporated South Whidbey and one from the lodging industry in unincorporated North Whidbey. Applicants must reside within the area they are representing.

The board reviews expenditures from the County-Cities/Town Tourism Fund and how such spending may increase tourism. The fund is supported through a 2-percent excise tax on lodging.

Interested individuals should provide a letter of interest and statement of qualifications by mail, e-mail or fax to: Island County Board of Commissioners, Attn: Ingrid Smith, Re: Joint Administration Board Vacancy, PO Box 5000, Coupeville, WA 98239.

The fax number is 360-679-7381. Send e-mail applications to ingrids@co.island.wa.us.

Application materials are due by 5 p.m. Monday, March 15. For additional information, call Smith at 360-679-7353.
