South Whidbey port officials review cell tower
April 13, 2010 · 3:30 PM
Port of South Whidbey commissioners will meet tonight to review the status of a proposed cell tower for the ridge above Possession Point Waterfront Park.
Before the regular meeting, commissioners will take testimony on a port application for a boating infrastructure grant for funding of the first phase of the Langley Marina expansion.
The special meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13 at the parks district headquarters, 5475 Maxwelton Road in Langley.
Port officials have not determined yet if AT&T’s cell-tower plan is a proper fit for the public property. Commissioners will take action depending on the outcome of a records search currently under way.
Also on the agenda is a design and permit review for the marina, the status of grant applications for the boat harbor, the search for a new port office and a report from the harbormaster.
Port Commissioner Curt Gordon will talk about commuter ferry issues, and Port Commissioner Chris Jerome will present an update on shuttle possibilities by Island Transit on port-owned property.
