Seven escape injuries in crash near Bayview

Seven people escaped injury Thursday evening in a three-vehicle, rear-end collision on Highway 525 south of Bayview, fire officials said Friday.
The collision sent one car over a 10-foot embankment and into a field, officials said.
The incident involving two pickup trucks and a Volvo station wagon occurred about 7:15 p.m. on a clear and calm evening, Island County Fire District 3 Deputy Chief Jon Beck said.
Beck said one of the pickups and the station wagon were stopped in the southbound lane of the highway to await another vehicle turning left onto Coles Road.
He said the other pickup truck slammed into the rear of the station wagon, pushing it into the pickup ahead, then over the bank and into the field, where it remained upright.
The three teenagers in the station wagon were apparently unhurt, as were the three people in the front pickup truck and the driver of the third truck, Beck said. All declined medical attention.
He said the station wagon was damaged “significantly,” but the other two vehicles were only slightly damaged.
One lane of the highway was blocked for about 30 minutes while officials investigated.
