Missing woman found in woods on South Whidbey
July 23, 2010 · 2:52 PM
A woman described as elderly and with memory problems was found in the woods near her Clinton home Thursday afternoon after being reported missing by her husband, officials said.
Island County Fire District 3 Deputy Chief Mike Cotton said the missing-person call came in about 4 p.m. from a home off Maxwelton Road.
Cotton said Island County Sheriff’s deputies and Langley Police also responded.
The woman was located by family members near her home about a half-hour after the call, he added.
“She apparently took a tumble in the woods and suffered a few minor cuts and bruises, but she was safely found,” Cotton said.
