If South Whidbey residents wish to support the South Whidbey Schools Foundation, all it will take is grabbing a bite to eat at one of 14 participating restaurants and businesses.

“Dine Out Wednesdays for South Whidbey Schools” began in October. When patrons dine at the participating restaurants, a portion of the proceeds is donated to the South Whidbey Schools Foundation for “innovative” teacher-requested classroom grants, according to a press release.

Participating restaurants include Neil’s Clover Patch Café, Patron Mexican Restaurant, Café Langley, Portico, Spyhop, Gordon’s, Freeland Café, Useless Bay Coffee Company, Charmers Bistro, El Corral Mexican Restaurant, Hong Kong Gardens, plus take-out pizza from the Big W Pizza at Ken’s Korner, and dessert at Sprinklz in Langley.

A special dinner will be held on Friday, Oct. 14 at Prima Bistro in Langley. The restaurant will donate a portion of its receipts to the foundation. Reservations can be made by calling 360-221-4060.

“This is an easy way to help fund innovative, teacher-requested classroom grants to enhance the education of our children. We thank all the participating restaurants for making local educational support a priority,” Foundation President Chris Gibson said.
