Furry creatures to run alongside people at third annual PAWZ 5k/10k run/walk in Langley

One of Langley’s most waggish events for people and their dogs will take place Memorial Day, May 30. The third annual PAWZ 5k/10k run/walk will begin on Second Street, with the 5k race starting at 9 a.m. and 10k at 9:15 a.m. The Kids Fun Run starts at 10:30 a.m. Organizers added a 10k race this year to engage those who requested a longer run. Participants are encouraged to bring two or four-legged friends and the race is open to everyone, whether you want to run or walk, are young or old, have a dog or not.

The top 10 women, men and dogs will receive awards with random prizes given to dogs with feats like most drool, shortest legs, biggest eyes and most active tail.

The event is sponsored by Animal Hospital by the Sea and the Langley Main Street Association. It will benefit Good Cheer Pet Food Bank and the Happy Hounds 4H Club. For more information and registration, visit www.pawzbythesea.com.
