Granddaughter celebrates grandparents’ combined 100 years of marriage

As of June 26, Rod and Sylvia Roehnelt have spent the past five decades together as husband and wife. They recently returned from a trip to Europe where they visited their granddaughter, Zsuzsi Roehnelt. Her other grandparents, Dr. Szalamin Edit and Dr. Fejér Dénes, will also celebrate 50 years together on July 3.

They recently returned from a trip to Europe where they visited their granddaughter, Zsuzsi Roehnelt. Her other grandparents, Dr. Szalamin Edit and Dr. Fejér Dénes, will also celebrate 50 years together on July 3.

The Whidbey Roehnelts stopped in Budapest, Hungary to see their granddaughter perform in the play “Janos Vitez” at the Hungarian National Theatre.

The two couples celebrated their golden anniversaries together. Sylvia Brummitt Roehnelt and Rod Roehnelt were married June 26, 1965 in East Peoria, Ill. Edit and Dénes were married July 3, 1965 in Szeged, Hungary.
