The Langley City Council wants to hold its regular meetings two days sooner.

The council is likely to vote on a resolution Wednesday that will move the meetings from the first and third Wednesday of the month to the first and third Monday.

Whenever Monday falls on a holiday, the meeting will be held the next Tuesday instead.

Mayor Paul Samuelson said the change was requested by city staff and council members.

“It’s a scheduling issue,” he said. “It’s a better fit for all of us.”

Samuelson also said a number of other organizations meeting are held on Wednesdays, including the Port of South Whidbey, and having meetings on different days will help coordinate work between different government entities.

The next meeting will still be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Langley City Hall.
