About 20 members of the Langley Middle School jazz band played swing music during the dance under the direction of their band leader Jess Foley. The band had the crowd swingin’ to such tunes as “In the Pocket,” “Goodbye Pork Pie Hat,” “Aim High” and “Manteca.”

Meanwhile, Walter Dill and his daughter Celina Dill of the Everyone Can Dance school offered lessons in ballroom dancing that included basic single-time swing and a little bit of the foxtrot.
