The Clinton Chamber of Commerce has new leadership and new energy.

Stephanie Cook is the board’s new president and Janae Cameron its vice president. And the two are working to reinvigorate the struggling group and bring attention to Clinton.

In an update to the Clinton Community Council Monday evening, Cameron said the chamber is working on the next Clinton brochure that’s placed on state ferries, the printing of which is to be covered with a grant from the Port of South Whidbey.

She also announced a continuation of the Thursday market, albeit on a smaller scale, in the green space near the Dodge Building. The chamber is working to get vendors, organize music and arrange for a movie showing. The aim is to grow the event and bring Clinton residents together. Cameron expects it to be fun and lively.

“The first one will feel like a block party,” she said.

The market will run from the end of June until the end of July, though the weekly movie may continue until August, depending on support.

Annual membership to the chamber is $75, and $25 for nonprofits. Visit http://www.discoverclintonwa.com/ for a membership application.
