The event was held after the Soup Box Derby and involved a handful of city dignitaries and officials, business leaders and mayoral candidates. They volunteered their faces for pie-throwing at $25 a toss.

“It was pretty cute and fun,” said Shawn Nowlin with Good Cheer Food Bank.

The food bank and Meals on Wheels were the two groups that benefited from the fundraiser, which was put on by Raymond James Financial Services in Langley.

Targets at the event include: Langley police Chief David Marks, Mayor Fred McCarthy, Raymond James’ Robert Taylor and team, Gary Piper of Piper Properties, Senior Services Foundation President Jim Cloore, Good Cheer Executive Director Kathy McCabe and mayoral candidates Sharon Emerson and Tim Callison.
