All hands will be on deck today to discuss preparations for the upcoming charrette, a stakeholders meeting Tuesday, April 14 about how to connect the marina to the downtown area and parking.

In charge of some of the moderation will be Ursula Roosen-Runge, a volunteer who will visit with the Langley Planning Advisory Board at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 1. Planning board members are going to serve as station moderators and will attend the charrette, according to Director of Community Planning Michael Davolio.

More than a dozen project options will be presented for people to consider. An informal sticker poll will help the planning director get a sense of which alternative is the public’s preferred option. Previously proposed options include the funicular, a pod on a track to move up and down the Cascade Avenue bluff, and the Langley Lift, a bridge and elevator connecting the South Whidbey Harbor with Cascade Avenue near Fourth Street.
