Adam Lind and his business partners are inviting people to learn more about a proposed marijuana production facility on Country Lane near Lone Lake.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at Deer Lagoon Grange, 5412 Bayview Road. The proposed facility would be a two-acre, low-impact outdoor cannabis production site. Tier 3 marijuana production facilities, according to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board, allow for between 10,000 square feet and 30,000 square feet of dedicated plant canopy.

A producer, commonly called a grow or grow operation, produces marijuana for sale at wholesale to processors and allows for production, possession, delivery and distribution.

According to the state’s list of marijuana production applicants and license holders, there are three active producers in Island County. All of them are located in Oak Harbor. A total of 11 other producers in Oak Harbor, Clinton and on Camano Island are awaiting word on their applications.

No licenses are currently available, according to the state’s web site.

Lind previously owned a medical marijuana shop in Freeland.
