Second-to-last school district community meeting slated for tonight

The South Whidbey School District will hold its second-to-last community meeting tonight at 6:30 the South Whidbey High School Commons.

The district is holding public meetings to identify where it can trim spending to compensate for smallerbudgets.

The final community meeting is slated for Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

Using what they learned at the meetings, the board will hold a workshop to discuss consolidation ofdistrict facilities at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, 2017, followed by a public hearing on Jan. 25 to make anofficial decision.
