Two very different kind of banks are teaming up to address an expected increase in food needs among students this summer. Anticipating the increased burden on struggling families once schools are out for summer, Whidbey Island Bank has promised to match donations to Good Cheer Food Bank up to $5,000 until June 30.

Two very different kind of banks are teaming up to address an expected increase in food needs among students this summer.

Anticipating the increased burden on struggling families once schools are out for summer, Whidbey Island Bank has promised to match donations to Good Cheer Food Bank up to $5,000 until June 30.

The points added to a family’s budget at the Food Bank will be about a 10 percent increase over their points during the school year, according to a recent news release.

Donations can be made online at www.goodcheer.org or in person at any Good Cheer location.
