Claire Martha Hofius, daughter of Betsy and Douglas Hofius of Clinton, earned several honors en route to graduating from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. May 14. Hofius, a graduate of South Whidbey High School, received a liberal arts degree in geography.

Founded in 1874, Macalester College is a national liberal arts college with 2,138 students. The college is nationally recognized for its long-standing commitment to academic excellence, internationalism, multiculturalism, and civic engagement, according to a press release.
