South Whidbey Nightcrawlers Garden Club celebrates 36th anniversary

The South Whidbey Nightcrawlers Garden Club turned 36 this month. The club formed in 1980 with 13 members. An original planning committee included: Janie Gabelein, Karen Jeffers, Alice Miller, Carol Spangler, Margaret Tagg and Pat Westling.

The club formed in 1980 with 13 members. An original planning committee included: Janie Gabelein, Karen Jeffers, Alice Miller, Carol Spangler, Margaret Tagg and Pat Westling.

Today the club has 25 members and continues to meet in members’ homes. The group has 10 meetings from September to June.

The club also continues to collect food for the Good Cheer Food Bank each year, donate to the South Whidbey Schools Foundation and the Good Cheer and school gardens.
