Langley’s still unformed ethics board is on its way with the scheduled appointment of two additional members Monday, July 6.

The Langley City Council is expected to hear and confirm a pair of appointments to the ethics board. The two candidates are Sharon Betcher and Monica Guzman.

Already appointed are Bob Frause and Fred Herzon, whose confirmations came in April and May.

The ethics board is, by city rule, supposed to have five members plus an alternate. Mayor Fred McCarthy has also enforced the idea of gender parity among the members and has sought three men and three women to serve.

Another restriction is that the majority of its members must be residents of Langley, while the others must live within the South Whidbey boundary south of Classic Road.

The council meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 112 Second St.
