Volunteer South Whidbey Fire/EMS captain steps down from post

Longtime South Whidbey Fire/EMS volunteer and captain Brian Vick last week announced that he will step down from his leadership position with the district.

Vick, who has been part of the district’s team since 2002, decided to put down his captain’s helmet to spend more time with his family and pursue his “dream” of serving as a charter boat captain.

He will continue to work for WhidbeyHealth EMS.

Vick previously served with Island County Fire District #2, which is now named North Whidbey Fire & Rescue. He has held the lieutenant position and has been serving as captain for Station 36 in Bayview.
