Young student artists across Puget Sound are being invited to enter into a drawing contest to be featured on the cover of the Washington State Ferries 2017 winter sailing schedule.

The competition is open to students from kindergarten to fifth grade.

It’s the first contest of its kind put on by ferries division. Those interested in submitting art are asked to illustrate what winter on the water means to them. In addition to the winner, five finalists will be featured on the Washington State Ferries’ website, weekly update newsletter and Twitter page.

The contest provides an opportunity for work from student artists to be seen by users of the ferry system’s 10 terminals and 22 vessels, with 400,000 winter sailing schedules printed every year.

Submissions must be emailed to wsfcomms@wsdot.wa.gov. For submission requirements, visit http://wsdotblog.blogspot.com/2016/09/washington-state-ferries-back-to-school.html.
