Ann Rudd: July 31, 1940-Dec. 26, 2017

Ann Sophia Rudd, nurse extraordinaire of Holmes Harbor, passed away Dec. 26, 2017, with family around her.

A loving mother and friend, she was born July 31, 1940, to Jenne and Elwood Bingham in Snohomish. Jenne remarried Coburn Lenfest, who became father to her brother Glenn and later sister Marylin. She graduated from Snohomish High School in 1958 and went straight into a nursing career, earning credentials as NA, LN, LPN, RN and DN.

She met and married Payton Rudd Jr. in 1962. Growing up in the country, she loved nature, the snow and holidays, and was pleased with this white Christmas.

As a musician, she played clarinet in the high school band, sang “Sweet Adelines” and played piano at the Lodge for fun.

In the geriatric field as a credited nurse aide trainer and consultant in home care locally, she fought for patients’ rights and nurse aides’ working conditions (ie: better training for the aides). She was often heard in Olympia.

Her children, grandchildren and family were everything. She joins her husband Payton, brother Glenn and brother-in-law Jay. She leaves sons John and Rick and daughter Jenne; grandchildren Josh, Caleb, Aleah and Amanda; sister Marilyn (Leon); nephew Scott; niece Carrie; brother-in-law Jim (Cara); sister-in-law Pat; and son Jason Rudd.

Family memorial will be this spring. She was on the move until the end and will be dearly missed by us all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to BECU Jenne Rudd Benevolent Account. Questions can be answered at rickrudd33@gmail.com
