Charles ‘Chuck’ ‘Mac’ McIntyre, Jr.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Charles McIntyre, Jr, better known as “Chuck,” and “Mac.” Chuck died of natural causes on Oct. 14, 2019. He was 84 years old.

He is survived by an older son and daughter in-law in California and, on Whidbey, by his daughter Delayney, son Caden and previous partner, Ginger, as well as extended relatives and many friends.

Chuck moved to Whidbey Island in July 1996. He worked in the special education department for many years at South Whidbey high school. He later took a job across the water to work in an alternative school with teens involved in the juvenile justice system. He said this was his hardest, and most rewarding, job

He is a veteran himself and was most proud of his work with the both the PTSD Group “Avoiding Charlie Foxtrot-On War and Return” and his work with female vets. He continued this work until just a year ago.

Before moving to Whidbey, he was very active in the Men’s Movement that came out of the work of Robert Bly, James Hillman, Malidoma Some and many others. He enjoyed leading workshops and various programs for men. He loved drumming for these workshops he created and continued his love of music when he moved to Whidbey, playing with several different groups. He was always willing to play his drum at any event.

Please join us for a celebration of life at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. Please bring a potluck dish and any stories of Chuck you’d like to share. We will have time for telling stories and will be passing a book around where you can write your stories about Chuck for his children.

And, of course, bring your drums and musical instruments, if so inclined. Perhaps Chuck will join in too, in spirit.

For information and the location of the celebration, please email to wildgeese@whidbey.com Please feel free to share with other friends of Chuck’s.
