Clifton Alan Melling, age 87, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 4 at his home in the View Ridge neighborhood of Everett. He was surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

Clifton was born on Nov. 18, 1930 in a cabin on Columbia Beach, Clinton. He was the second of five children born to Clifford and Emma (Jensen) Melling. He was a descendant of Norwegian immigrants homesteading in the Clinton area of Whidbey Island.

A private family service was held at Solie Funeral Home on Monday Aug. 6. Friends and family are invited to a memorial reception 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Everett.
