Dorothea (Dotty) Cheever, 71, passed away on April 11, 2015, in Everett, Wash., surrounded by her family and friends.

Dotty was born in Seattle June 25, 1943, to Dewey Phillips and Ragna Afseth. In May of 1959, she married the late Francis Cheever and they made their home in Clinton, Wash., on Whidbey Island, where they ran their logging business, Cheever Logging, and raised their three sons, Joe, Francis “Bud” and Ron.

Dotty is preceded in death by her late husband, Francis Cheever, in 1975, and her parents, Dewey Phillips and Ragna Afseth. She is survived by her sister Diane (Buff) Bristow of Dekalb, Texas; her sons, Joe Cheever of Arlington, Wash., Francis “Bud” (Traci) Cheever of Langley, Wash., and Ron Cheever of Marysville, Wash.; grandchildren, Amanda, Meghan, Brianna, Ashley, Katie, Emily and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Kirstion and Zoey; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at noon Friday, April 24, 2015, at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA, with viewing starting at 11:15 a.m.
