George Burdette Clark: June 15, 1921 – Jan. 2, 2019

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather.

George was born June 15, 1921, in St. Louis, Mo.

He joined the Army in 1940, eventually serving as an air crewman aboard a B-25 bomber stationed in the Philippines.

He was honorably discharged as a technical sergeant.

He married Betty Louise Orr while in the Army, raising five children: Judy, Nancy, Michael, William and Kimberly.

This marriage would last 66 years until Betty’s passing.

A natural entrepreneur and engineer, he started several companies.

His career would start in electronics and would finish in water purification.

He retired from Dow Chemical after being awarded several patents in reverse osmosis.

He remarried to Miriam Surface, beginning the last chapter in his long and amazing life.

After a new life of six years, he passed peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones and friends.

He is survived by four of his children: Judy, Nancy, William and Kimberly, along with his wife Miriam and her children: David and wife Edie, Julie and Irene.

George has many grandchildren and great-grand-children.
