Geraldine Wahto: April 8, 1921-March 9, 2018

Born in Seattle on April 8, 1921, Geraldine attended University of Alaska Fairbanks where she met her husband of 57 years, Albert “Ole” Wahto.

After raising four children in Seattle, they retired in 1983 to their home (“don’t call it a cabin”) at Bush Point. Introduced to fishing the point by Gerry’s father in the 1940s, they chose their retirement site in 1962.

A long-standing officer of Lighthouse Shores Homes Association and volunteer at Good Cheer thrift shop, she loved her Whidbey community. She left the island to be nearer to her children in 2008 but never lost touch with many dear island friends.

A celebration of her life and character will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 at Judson Park Chapel, 23600 Marine View Dr. S., Des Moines, WA. Remembrances to Judson Park Foundation Benevolence Fund (same address).
