Jane-Ann Hover

Jane-Ann Hover, 82, of Freeland, WA, passed away October 21, 2016.

Jane-Ann was born September 5, 1934, in Schenectady, New York and as an Air Force wife and mother supported her husband and raised four children as he was transferred around the country and deployed overseas defending our freedom.

Jane-Ann attended Russell Sage College prior to marrying Robert Hover in 1953. She was an avid reader, especially of anything medical and spiritual. With her love of plants and animals, the house was always full of orchids, African violets, and any number of plant clippings and never without the warmth and love of multiple cats and dogs. She passed her love of cooking down to all her children.

She was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland, WA and previously, of Ascension Lutheran Church in Ogden, Utah. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 30 years.

In the course of more than 50 years of volunteer service, Jane-Ann touched so many lives while in service with the Red Cross ‘Gray Ladies’, Planned Parenthood, and as Volunteer Chaplain/Patient Advocate at Whidbey General Hospital in Freeland, WA and McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

Jane-Ann is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert; her brother & spouse, Norman & Birgit Davis; her children and their spouses, Jacqueline & Craig Scheele, Katherine & Kelly Skeels, Glenn & Terri Hover, and Tracie & John Mitchem; and her six grandchildren; Kirk, Patrick, Kaitlin, Halley, Hannah, and Mallorie.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to P.E.O. Foundation, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to those who provided care and compassion for our mother through her final days.
