Lynn Ruth Randall

Lynn Ruth Randall, age 82, died peacefully in her home on May 30, 2015. Lynn was born on August 14, 1932 to George and Rose Early, who lived in Kenmore where she grew up and attended Bothell High School. Lynn’s first job was working at Wayne Golf Course, where she saved money to buy her horse Penny. Lynn and Penny won many awards and took great pride at riding in local parades. Lynn attended Washington State University from where she went on to work in accounting management for 40 years.

She married Allan Rook in 1956, and they raised three children in the Richmond Beach area, where they attended St Luke’s Catholic Church and Lynn taught Wednesday catechism classes. Lynn worked full time as an office manager and accountant while raising her kids so that the family could buy a cabin on Whidbey Island. She loved the family’s beach cabin at Possession Shores, and whenever she was there, she was often out crabbing and clamming at low tide or back in the log cabin making clam chowder for friends and family. She was an avid bowler while raising her kids and became a member of the National 600 Club.

Lynn enjoyed entertaining at home and often invited others in saying, “It’s five o’clock somewhere.” In later years, Lynn developed a passion for golf, duplicate bridge and feline friends. Lynn was a member of the Useless Bay Golf & Country Club on Whidbey Island where she retired and enjoyed the companionship of her golf and bridge buddies, and her cat, Twitter.

Lynn is survived by her three children and their spouses: Debbi Brainerd (Paul), Diana Schnaible (Curt) and Greg Rook (Susie), as well as four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her favorite cat Twitter, who believes he is a dog.

The family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Lynn’s favorite charity, IslandWood.
