Robert (Bob) Dolph Rydeen

Longtime Whidbey Island resident Bob Rydeen died unexpectedly in his sleep at his home from an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

He was 62.

Bob was born in Monroe, Wash., Aug. 9, 1951.

He was raised in the Seattle area, later moving to California for high school and college.

In 1980 he bought property on South Whidbey near Langley and started building what would become the RyRose Ranch.

Bob worked in the trucking industry and ran his own contracting and dirt work business until he retired.

He loved spending time on his property, working around the ranch with his sweetheart Rose, playing with his dog Bella and listening to the blues.

He is survived by his new bride, Rose (Brena); daughter, Robbie Rydeen; brother, Rick Rydeen; sister, Mary Rydeen; his beloved dog, Bella; and Mr. Kitty.

Thanks to his many dear friends for their love and comfort at this sad time.

A private memorial will be held at a future date.
