Susan Marie Parrick: Feb. 14, 1945 – July 8, 2018

Susan Marie Parrick went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2018. Susan was 73 years old and was born on Feb. 14, 1945 in Everett, Wash. to Shirley and Don Matheson.

She is survived and missed by her husband Steven Parrick of Freeland; sister Nancy (Don) LaSalle of Tucson, Ariz.; brother Dennis (Candy) Matheson of Edmonds; daughter Sallie (Tom) Shitara of Long Beach, Calif.; son Richard (Jennifer) Parrick of Freeland; daughter Kristine (Jon) Chapman of Langley; son Mark (Kristine) Parrick of Puyallup; grandchildren Jessica and Grace Shitara; Jordan and Alexis Parrick; Alysen and Aaron Curfman; Brandon, McKenna and Carl Henri Chapman; Walker and Deacon Parrick; Chung Ja and Larry Factor and their daughters Heather and Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandchild Haylee Parrick.

Susan was a member of the first graduating class of Cascade High School-Everett, Wash., in 1963. She also attended Simpson Bible College in San Francisco, and Western Washington University in Bellingham. Susan and Steve Parrick were married on July 2, 1966 and celebrated their 52nd anniversary on July 2, 2018. They were very active members of the Island Church of Whidbey for many of those years where Sue served in many roles. She especially loved working with the middle school youth.

Susan designed, plumbed and tiled the house that she and Steve built in Freeland. She was adventurous, loving to travel, ride her bicycle, playing with her grandchildren and attending their events.

A memorial service was held on July 15 at Island Church of Whidbey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Island Church of Whidbey Middle School Youth Group in Langley or the Island Lake Camp in Poulsbo, Wash.
