Valeria passed away peacefully on Dec. 28 at WhidbeyHealth, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born on Jan. 19, 1922 on the family farm near Odessa, Minn.

As a young woman, she moved to Minneapolis where she enjoyed playing softball for the Minneapolis Honeywells.

To be nearer to her brother, she moved to Seattle in her early 30s, and there she met and married Rudy Glinsek. They had a daughter, Cheryl.

Rudy passed away from cancer in 1964.

Valeria married Jim Tuggle on Dec. 7, 1979. They built a house and settled at Lagoon Point on Whidbey Island where she enjoyed entertaining her many friends and family. She also enjoyed camping in her RV, fishing and the beautiful views from her home.

Valeria was preceded in death by her mother, father, five brothers, sister and her first husband Rudy Glinsek.

She is survived by her loving husband Jim Tuggle; daughter Cheryl Jensen; her favorite daughter Foxy Lady (her dog); step-children, Steve, Diane, Gary, Linda and Jean; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a beautiful, smart, strong willed, independent woman with a great sense of humor, and loved by all who knew her.

A memorial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland to celebrate her life on what would have been her 97th birthday.
